Halfway. 2,465 Oceans estimated to be on the road, and we've now seen half of them.

As of April 21, 2026 we’ve found 50% of all the Oceans operating in NYC.

If you’d told us in February — back when we were celebrating 10% — that we’d be at the halfway mark two months later, we’d have asked what you knew that we didn’t.

On to the next half. The hard half, probably.

Hitting 50% on this wacky project makes me so happy for two reasons:

  1. I really didn’t think this would work
  2. It’s such good old fashioned internet magic to be able to get excited about something weird and niche with strangers
